End your stroll at the very heart of the Old Port, passing through the traditional fish market under the Ombri\u00e8re<\/strong>, then continue to the Cours d\u2019Estienne d\u2019Orves<\/strong>. This charming pedestrian square, lined with restaurants, is the perfect place to savour local specialities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Just a short distance away, near the H\u00f4tel de Ville, you can board the Petit Train<\/strong>, which will take you directly up to Notre-Dame de la Garde. From there, you will enjoy the most spectacular panorama in Marseille from its highest point.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Right opposite, the MuCEM<\/strong> (Museum of European and Mediterranean Civilisations) will impress you with its exhibitions and its striking cubic architecture, designed by the celebrated Rudy Ricciotti. The morning ends with a visit to Fort Saint-Jean<\/strong>, a historic monument deeply rooted in Marseille\u2019s heritage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The setting lends itself perfectly to lunch at the top of the MuCEM or Fort Saint-Jean. From there, you can watch the endless comings and goings of boats in the port while savouring generous local cuisine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Walk back to the heart of the Old Port to board a boat towards the Calanques National Park<\/strong> or the Ch\u00e2teau d\u2019If<\/strong>, made famous by The Count of Monte-Cristo<\/em>. Each excursion has its own charm: one reveals breathtakingly beautiful wild and protected coves, while the other is steeped in history.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Day 3<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

This final day continues off the beaten track: head out to discover the C\u00f4te Bleue! Take the C\u00f4te Bleue train from Gare Saint-Charles in the direction of Miramas, then stop at the village of Sausset-les-Pins. Stroll along the Corniche, enjoying the sunshine and this unspoilt stretch of coastline. Then stop at the small fishing harbour of Sausset for an oursinade<\/em>: an incredibly authentic and convivial experience featuring quality seafood and sea urchins.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the way back (by train again), don\u2019t hesitate to stop at the L\u2019Estaque<\/strong> neighbourhood, a source of inspiration for famous painters such as Paul C\u00e9zanne, Georges Braque and Auguste Renoir. There, you can enjoy chichis Fr\u00e9gis<\/em> (sweet fried doughnuts) while admiring the colours of the sunset reflecting on the boats.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
